Along For the Journey

"Now -- here is my secret:I tell it to you with an openness of heart I doubt I shall ever achieve again, so I pray that you are in a quiet room as you hear these words. My secret is that I need God - that I am sick and can no longer make it alone. I need God to help me give, because I no longer seem capable of giving; to help me to be kind, as I no longer seem capable of kindness; to help me love, as I seem beyond able to love." -Douglas Coupland

Sustained By Grace Forever

God has called His Church according to His own purposes that we would be a people to the praise of the glory of His grace that is given to us in Jesus Christ for the purpose of knowing Him and making Him known so that all men might praise. From beginning to end, Christ is the Author and Perfector of our faith and he is faithful to complete the work He has started in us. I have struggled deeply in my flesh with accepting this grace and who this God is, but God has never let go of me and He never will. I have been unfaithful, he has always been faithful to His glory and for the good of His children. I have been disillusioned about who I have made God to be many times and have wanted to run away at times. Thankfully, "God cannot get disillusioned with us, because He had no illusions to start with". While I was yet a sinner, Christ died and saved me. And for that, I will always praise Him.
